Qatar, for its part, has said that the matter is still under consideration. In a statement to The New York Times, Qatari spokesperson Ali Al-Ansari confirmed that discussions between Qatar’s Ministry of Defence and the US Department of Defence are ongoing, but emphasised that “no decision has been made”.
